A short PIN can be guessed offline. Use at least 4 characters; for better resistance, prefer a secret phrase or a code of at least 12 characters, and share it through another channel.

Is the text sent to a server?

No. Encryption and decryption happen in your browser. The QR code contains encrypted data only.

Does the QR code contain the PIN?

No. The PIN is never included in the QR code. Share it separately and avoid short or reused PINs.

How much text can I transfer?

The tool accepts up to 1,200 bytes to keep the QR code reasonably scannable. For longer content, use another suitable transfer method.
